Why this matters
Use the laser head's current physical location as a temporary reference point and understand how Job Origin changes the direction of placement.
How it works
- Current Position places the job relative to the laser head location at the moment Start is pressed.
- The 9-dot Job Origin selector defines which point of the job is aligned to that current position.
- Because the reference is temporary, moving the head changes where the same project will run.
Practical workflow
- Choose the Job Origin point that matches how you intend to align the material.
- Jog the laser head to the intended reference point.
- Use Frame before Start to confirm the footprint.
- Do not move the head after alignment unless you intend to redefine the reference.
- Repeat a simple positioning test until the 9-dot origin behavior is intuitive.
What to watch for
- Current Position is easy to misuse if you forget where the head was when the last job started.
- Wrong Job Origin selection can place the job on the opposite side of the reference point.
