Why this matters
Use LightBurn's most direct positioning model, where a design's Workspace location corresponds to the same location in the machine work area.
How it works
- Absolute Coordinates maps LightBurn's Workspace to the machine work area relative to the shared machine origin.
- The object's location on screen is intended to correspond to its physical output location.
- The 9-dot Job Origin selector is not used in Absolute Coordinates because the origin relationship is predetermined.
Practical workflow
- Home the machine if your controller uses homing and needs known machine coordinates.
- Verify the device profile's workspace size and origin.
- Place the design in the Workspace where it should appear on the material.
- Use Frame to verify the physical boundary.
- Run a small positioning test before trusting a new machine profile.
What to watch for
- Absolute Coordinates depends on correct machine coordinates; a wrong origin or lost position breaks the screen-to-bed relationship.
