Why this matters
Find identical overlapping objects that can cause extra Line passes, strange Fill behavior or confusing Preview output.
How it works
- Delete Duplicates finds identical objects occupying the same size, shape and position.
- Objects need to be ungrouped for the tool to detect them.
- Duplicates can cause extra Line Mode passes and can make Fill objects disappear or behave unexpectedly in Preview.
Practical workflow
- When imported artwork behaves inexplicably, make a backup copy of the project.
- Ungroup the suspect geometry.
- Run Delete Duplicates.
- Preview the project again and compare job sequence/time.
- Inspect remaining geometry for open paths or overlaps if the issue persists.
What to watch for
- The tool only removes true duplicates, not every overlapping line.
- Grouped objects may prevent detection.
- Do not assume a duplicated object is visible in the editor just because the design looks darker.
