Why this matters
Apply per-shape adjustments without creating another layer, and know the optimization requirement that makes priority values active.
How it works
- Power Scale rescales the power used for an individual shape as a percentage of the layer's power range.
- Cut Order Priority assigns a numeric priority to a shape; lower values run earlier.
- Cut Order Priority only takes effect when Order by Priority is enabled in Optimization Settings.
Practical workflow
- Use a normal layer setting as the baseline.
- Apply Power Scale only to shapes that need a controlled relative change.
- Use Priority for explicit ordering exceptions.
- Enable Order by Priority when priorities are meant to matter.
- Preview to verify both order and resulting processing structure.
What to watch for
- Power Scale can hide important differences if used everywhere instead of separate documented layers.
- Priority values without the matching optimization rule create false confidence.
- Per-shape overrides make troubleshooting harder unless they are documented.
