The Numeric Edits toolbar can remove a surprising amount of calculator work. X position, Y position, width, height, and rotation fields accept mathematical expressions, but the result is only predictable when the reference point and object selection are understood.
Calculate in the field
Enter expressions such as 58+37, 10.25/2, or (10+2)*4+1 directly in a supported numeric field, then confirm the entry. LightBurn also supports documented constants and functions. Keep the expression readable; a short calculation is easier to review than a dense formula.
Use explicit units
Unit suffixes allow a value such as 5in to be entered while the project is displayed in millimetres. LightBurn converts supported units, including millimetres and centimetres, into the active display unit. Explicit units are valuable when a customer drawing mixes systems.
Check the nine-point anchor
Width, height, and position changes act relative to the selected point in the nine-dot anchor control. Before editing, decide which edge, corner, or centre must stay fixed. If the lock is enabled, changing one dimension preserves the aspect ratio; if it is disabled, the object can stretch.
