An available LightBurn download is not automatically the right build for every workshop computer. Make the decision by separating operating-system support, license eligibility, and production readiness.

1. Can the computer run this version?

Check the current official installation page for the operating systems supported by the exact LightBurn release. Do not rely on an old forum answer or on the fact that an earlier LightBurn version still launches. A newer release can change its minimum operating-system requirement.

2. Can the license activate this version?

A LightBurn license is perpetual for the versions it is eligible to run. The update period controls access to newer releases; it is not a monthly permission for the already eligible version. Check the license portal or LightBurn's licensing guidance before upgrading an older workshop computer.

3. Is the build ready for this workshop?

Compatibility does not prove that device profiles, drivers, fonts, libraries, and automation behave exactly as before. Export a User Bundle and save projects separately. Test the installer on a non-critical window, then verify one known project and machine.
