A project that opens on another computer is not automatically a project that will reproduce the same output. A reliable handoff separates design data, LightBurn configuration, and computer-level dependencies.

Package the project

Create a dedicated folder with the final .lbrn2 file, the original imported artwork, customer-approved references, and a plain-text production note. Record material, thickness, focus method, machine, lens, origin method, and the tested layer settings. Keep an untouched approved project and make production edits in a copy.

Move LightBurn configuration separately

Export a User Bundle when the destination needs the same device profiles, preferences, hotkeys, Material Test presets, image presets, or libraries. Import only into the intended LightBurn profile and verify which configuration sections are selected. The bundle does not replace the project folder.

Handle fonts and SHX files

LightBurn uses fonts available to the operating system as well as configured SHX resources. The receiving computer may substitute or fail to find a font. For final artwork, keep an editable text version and a production copy converted to paths. Confirm spelling and dimensions before conversion.
