Variable Text can show more than imported names and serials. Date/Time mode resolves values from the computer clock, while Cut Setting mode can display selected properties of a LightBurn layer. Both are useful when the source and update moment are clear.
Date and time values
Date/Time output follows the computer's clock and locale. Before marking traceability data, confirm the operating-system date, time, time zone, and expected formatting. Use Test immediately before output. A saved project contains the format instruction; the resolved time can change when the job is run later.
Cut Setting values
Cut Setting variables begin with a layer selector such as Cnn, followed by the property to display. The documented properties include speed, power, pass count, and image-related interval or DPI values. Use this mode for setup cards, sample labels, or test artifacts that should identify the active recipe.
Keep labels unambiguous
Place fixed text beside the variable: for example, label a value as speed, power, passes, date, or time. Include units in fixed text when the format does not provide them. Do not use a live Cut Setting value as the only permanent process record; layer settings can be edited later.
