“It does not work” describes the result but gives no testable cause. A useful evidence package lets another person reproduce the issue, separate file behavior from machine behavior and recommend one safe next check.
1. Record the setup
Write down the exact laser model, controller/firmware, LightBurn version, operating system and connection method. In LightBurn, note the active device profile and workspace dimensions. Include a direct link to the manufacturer's product page when possible.
Expected: the recipient can identify the controller family and applicable settings. If you cannot identify it, include a photo of the rating plate and startup text; do not guess “GRBL” from appearance.
2. Describe one reproducible symptom
Use a sentence with action, moment and observed result: “On the second Fill pass, the output becomes faint while motion continues” is useful. “Power problem” is not. State whether it happens every time, with one file, after warm-up, or only on one area of the bed.
List the smallest repeatable sequence from opening the file to the failure. Then create a tiny safe test file that reproduces it, if possible.
3. Attach the actual project
Save and share the .lbrn2 file, not only a screenshot or exported G-code. Remove customer names or confidential artwork by reproducing the issue with simple geometry. State which layer and object demonstrate the fault.
