Why this matters
Control where a vector path begins and which direction it follows, while understanding that optimization rules can still change final execution order.
How it works
- Set Start Point changes the start node and direction used when traversing a vector path.
- Optimization Settings can override path ordering decisions, so the manually chosen point is not the only factor in final machine motion.
- Start points affect vector paths, not the raster scan direction of Fill or Image operations.
Practical workflow
- Use Set Start Point only on the vector whose entry location actually matters.
- Choose a start location that helps with heat, fixture clearance or production sequence.
- Open Preview and step through the simulated path.
- Review Optimization Settings if the result does not follow the expected order.
- Test on noncritical material before relying on a start point for precision production.
What to watch for
- Changing a start point is not the same as changing the job's Start From mode.
