Why this matters
Build a repeatable backup routine for LightBurn settings, devices, libraries and presets before updates or moving to another computer.
How it works
- User Bundles can package LightBurn settings, custom hotkeys, devices, Material Libraries, Art Libraries and supported presets.
- Project files are not included in a User Bundle and must be copied separately.
- Current LightBurn versions use
.lbzipbundles as a primary migration mechanism between computers.
Practical workflow
- Before a major update, export a User Bundle containing the configuration components you care about.
- Copy all project files separately to a second storage location.
- On a new computer, install LightBurn first, then import the bundle.
- Review imported devices and libraries before production use.
- Keep dated backup bundles instead of overwriting the same backup forever.
What to watch for
- Do not assume a bundle contains
.lbrn2project files. - Importing a device can create another device copy; review names and active selection.
