Why this matters
Choose a deliberate ordering hierarchy and understand when Shape Properties priorities take effect.
How it works
- Order by Layer respects the operation structure defined in the Cuts / Layers list.
- Cut Order Priority values on shapes only affect execution when Order by Priority is enabled in Optimization Settings.
- Grouping can be used as an ordering boundary, but its usefulness depends on project organization.
Practical workflow
- Decide whether layers, logical groups or per-shape priorities should be the primary production structure.
- Enable only the ordering methods you intend to use.
- Assign priorities sparingly to exceptions rather than every shape.
- Preview the result and step through the sequence.
- Document unusual priority logic in reusable production files.
What to watch for
- A Priority value does nothing if Order by Priority is disabled.
- Conflicting ordering rules can make a project difficult to audit.
- Visual draw order is not automatically the laser cut order.
